- Acquiring the package:
-
- Download the uuencoded file and extract using SparkPlug 2 (see the "tools_help"
- file in arch/riscos/tools for further info).
-
- The Tierra !Help file describes how to build the executables. If you get
- the error 'Incorrect format - removing project' (or similar) when double-
- clicking on the Makefile then load it into an editor and remove the line
- that begins with 'PCFlags' which refers to the Pascal compiler.
-
- Description:
-
- Tierra simulates a virtual computer in which programs mutate and evolve,
- competing with each other for memory and CPU time. It can be used to study
- the way artifical life forms grow and interact, and shows the power of natural
- selection.
-
- This is a port of a UNIX program with WIMP support added, but unfortunately,
- the license restrictions prevent the distribution of any binaries so you will
- need Acorn C (version 4) to compile it.
